What is a Kaohsiung?
Kaohsiung, Taiwan's second largest city, is a dynamic city with tons to see, eat, and do! With almost 3 million people, it's the island's largest port. It sits on the southern coast, bounded by the South China Sea. The city is divided by the Love River, or Ai He in Chinese. The city has the second most extensive metro network on the island, the KMRT (Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit). While you may have never heard of it, it is not a place you can miss on any East Asian trip!

My Little Corner of the City
We will be studying at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, Taiwan's only post-secondary language university! It is a little ways north from the city center, but it does sit on the banks of the Love River. Out host homes will be near the university. It is not a far walk or bus ride to Lotus Lake or Ruifeng Night Market.
